All of these were considered to be the "new normal" because they were necessary to reduce the risk, be safe, and not have to suffer the detrimental effects. The restrictions to contain and slow down the COVID-19 virus brought significant effects on overall daily living.

People were made to work from home, while some were forced to be temporarily unemployed as businesses shut down. Parents were encouraged to home-school their children.
